If you are interested in volunteering for the SPAM Lab in Spring 2025, applications for MA, undergraduate, and post-bach positions will open in January 2025. There are no paid positions available. Please do not apply if you are only seeking paid research opportunities.
Prospective PhD:
The SPAM Lab and Emily Balcetis encourage applications from potential graduate students for the 2025-2026 academic year who are interested in receiving training from and working with multiple faculty members in the social psychology program. Dr. Balcetis is seeking students who wish to have her as a primary and secondary advisor. Any students with interests are encouraged to apply. Members of underrepresented groups who bring a difference in perspective and experience are especially encouraged to apply, also.
Undergraduate, Post-bach, Masters, and Graduate Research Assistants:
Interested in joining the SPAM Lab team? Responsibilities for research assistants include conducting literature searches, assisting in designing experiments, analyzing data, and running experiments. Research assistants have an opportunity to advance within the lab and move forward to independent research and thesis projects. Individuals who are not enrolled in college are invited to apply; these positions are un-paid, volunteer positions.
Current NYU undergraduates are encouraged to apply; these positions can be compensated with course credit in Independent Study or research experience. Please reach out to Dr. Andy Hilford for more information on this option. Some students qualify for work study and can use their hours towards research experience. Other students might qualify for Wasserman Internship Fellowships. Dr. Balcetis can serve as the advisor for these programs.
NYU Masters' students who have a minimum of one year to commit to the lab are invited to apply.
